Armenia is a landlocked, 29,793 sq-km mostly mountainous country, which from time immemorial has been a migration passage-way for birds between eastern Europe and places south of Transcaucasia. Considering Armenia's small size, its birds are highly diverse. A total of 350 species have been observed in a country including regional endemic species. This compares with a total of 550 in all of Europe.

During this adventure we will travel through various landscapes: dry semidesert and juniper forest, wet deciduous forest, will visit high mountain lakes and walk through deep canyons.

General weather conditions are hot and dry in this season, especially in lower elevation. That said you will need a rain jacket, warm pullover (for higher elevation), and boots for hiking. The amount of physical effort required is generally easy to moderate. Nearly the whole area is pleasantly insect-free, except of Armash fish-ponds where some mosquitoes occur. Visas are required.

Tufenkian's bakery in the airport

Tufenkian introduced its freshly baked lahmajoons and byouregs in the Yerevan's Zvartnots International airport. You can taste our delicious baked goods, such as byouregs with cheese; greens and sour flavor, as well lahmajoons with meat and spices, and cheese mixture. You can choose from the bakery's many desserts, such as our famous apple pie, Armenian Gata and date pudding.
