Tsapatagh Birdwatching Excursion

Tsapatagh is traditional village on the southern slope of Aregooni Mountain Ridge near Lake Sevan - the second big highest Alpine lake in the world after Lake Titicaca in South America. The slopes of the mountains surrounding the village are covered by the highest juniper forest in Armenia. The dry slopes of the mountains support many species of trees and bushes, including Barberry and Hawthorn, as well as locoweed, holy clover, and feather grasses.
This habitat attracts a large number of birds, including chats, thrushes, buntings, and buzzards. The area also provides habitat for butterflies in the Lycaenidae and Satiridae families.
On our route includes a walk through the village, where Black Redstarts, and various finches can be found, followed by a hike through a picturesque gorge with dry eastern slope and a wet. Oak covered, western slope, where we will look for Siberian Stonechats, Rock Thrushes, Ring Ouzels and Mistle Thrushes, Black-headed and Rock Buntings, and Long-legged Buzzards. The stream at the bottom of the gorge attracts Grey and White Wagtails, as well as hundreds of butterflies. Lunchboxes provided by hotel, will allow us to have a picnic lunch in the gorge. We can expect to see up to 30 species of birds in summer and up to 20 species in winter
The excursion will be guided by a professional ornithologist from the Acopian Center for the Environment at the American University of Armenia in Yerevan.

Tufenkian's bakery in the airport
Tufenkian introduced its freshly baked lahmajoons and byouregs in the Yerevan's Zvartnots International airport. You can taste our delicious baked goods, such as byouregs with cheese; greens and sour flavor, as well lahmajoons with meat and spices, and cheese mixture. You can choose from the bakery's many desserts, such as our famous apple pie, Armenian Gata and date pudding.
