Tufenkian received the Travel and Leisure’s Global Vision Award for Economic Development November 18, 2005

The December issue of Travel and Leisure introduces the magazine’s Global Vision Awards, recognizing the most innovative projects and organizations that are defending the historical, cultural and ecological integrity of the traveler’s world. From hundreds of candidates, Travel and Leisure editors nominated finalists in seven categories and presented them to a jury of experts.

Award categories included: economic development, cultural preservation, community outreach, green/eco-hotel initiative, ecological conservation, innovation and corporate initiative.

The Economic Development Award recognizes Tufenkian’s culturally responsible business efforts – related though not limited to tourism – that enhance the economy of a developing community.
